Entry requirement: Nominated club must be affiliated to England Golf and SafeGolf accredited. 


The nominated club may be a traditional members’ club, a commercial club, a community club and can include activities that have taken place in 2021.

SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Entry requirement: The county, club or facility involved in the project must be affiliated to England Golf and SafeGolf accredited.


Aim of award: To recognise individuals, golf facilities or organisations that have implemented a successful sustainability project. 


Criteria for nomination: The project should have carried clear objectives and set targets on how to sustain golf in one or more of following areas.


•    Social: This may have involved working with the local community to sustain a business model or on other sustainable efforts.


•    Economic: Looking at financial intervention that facilities could take to improve their outlay


•    Environmental: This may have involved reducing the eco footprint or improvements for waste management


•    Human: Maintaining and improving workforce

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR 

Entry requirement: A person involved in golf volunteer activity during 2021 within their club, county, community, school or university.


•    Someone who has made an exceptional contribution to golf on the course or behind the scenes, helping others to enjoy the game 


•    A proactive person who dedicates their time to supporting others in a creative or innovative way. 


•    A person who has shown excellent teamwork and leadership qualities with consideration of equality, diversity and inclusion. 


•    Please note: The criteria listed is for guidance only. The nominee does not need to meet all criteria, but the list can be expanded to bring in other achievements or innovations from 2021.

YOUNG AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR

Entry requirement:

1. A person involved in activity during 2021
 

2. An individual aged 25 or under on 31 December 2021
 

3. Someone who has made an exceptional contribution to golf on or off the course, helping others to enjoy the game
 

4. A person who has been creative during Covid-19 restrictions for the benefit of others, perhaps making use of technology or social media
 

5. An individual who has shown great teamwork and developed their skills in some way
 

The individual’s contributions will have been largely voluntary, but might include some paid work. They may have worked as part of a team or led the way as an ambassador. Contributions might include (but are not limited to) as a club volunteer, ambassador, buddy or junior captain. This could be in any setting including in a club, community and school.

PARTICIPATION & DEVELOPMENT COACH OF THE YEAR

Entry requirement: A PGA-accredited coach working within the game in England.


Criteria for nomination: An individual whose passion, skills and initiatives are inspiring new and existing players and helping them get more from the game. 


Nominee details: 


1.    Name of coach

4.    How many golfers has this coach introduced to club membership?


5.    How has this coach interacted with the community? (200 words maximum)


6.    How has this coach contributed positively to the club and county? (200 words maximum)

TOURNAMENT VENUE OF THE YEAR

Entry requirement: Any venue that has hosted an official England Golf tournament. This may include events such as national championship, qualifier or handicap events including Captains or Senior Series.

LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD 

Entry requirement: An individual who has made an exceptional contribution to their golf club(s) or community over 10 years or more.


Criteria for nomination: The individual’s contributions can be in any capacity including (but not limited to) within a club, community, school or university. 


Their contributions will likely have been largely in a voluntary capacity but may include some paid work. Examples may include (but are not limited to) within club leadership or administration, coaching, competitions, events.


Nominee details:

2.    Name of golf club where they are a member (if applicable)  


3.    Name of county


4.    Length of time involved in golf


5.    Description of role(s) they have undertaken during their time in golf (200 words maximum)


6.    Detail how this person has made a significant difference to the game of golf in his/her community. This could include to the lives of players, members, visitors, staff or other volunteers. We would recommend supplying testimonies to support the application. (400 words maximum)

PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Closed to outside nominations. This award is decided by a panel of England Golf performance staff.  This award recognises the player or team judged to have achieved the most notable success(es) in the last 12 months. This is open to amateur players/teams only.
